In February 2022, ISO 27002:2022 – the standard which provides the best practice controls that organisations can implement to improve security – was updated. A new version of ISO 27001 was also required to align the two standards. As a result, ISO 27001:2022 was published on 25 October 2022, and organisations with existing certification have until October 2025 to transition to the new version.
