Repsol, a global multi-energy company, has successfully achieved certification from LRQA against ISO 14067 – the international standard for quantification and reporting of a product’s carbon footprint.

Repsol’s goal is to become a net zero emissions company by 2050, in line with the targets set out in the Paris Agreement. This certification is therefore an important milestone in the demanding roadmap the company has set itself to reduce emissions, improve the environment and offer society more sustainable products.

Following the successful ISO 14067 verification of the company’s carbon footprint data, Repsol's Director of Specialties and Coke, Susana Baños, together with Repsol's Director of Sustainability, Clara Isabel Rey García, received their certification from LRQA at a ceremony held at Repsol Campus, the company’s headquarters.

Repsol's Director of Specialties and Coke, Susana Baños, said:

"This certification that we have just received from LRQA assures the rigor of the carbon footprint calculation methodology, guaranteeing the quality of the data throughout the entire process. It is an important step to continue progressing towards the reduction of the carbon footprint and to achieve the goal of being a net zero emissions company by 2050".

It constitutes an important milestone for the multi-energy company and the sector, both from a strategic point of view and as a tangible demonstration of the commitment acquired by Repsol to manufacture more sustainable products throughout its value chain; but also from a technical point of view, since behind this calculation there is planning, action and alliances to achieve this milestone.”

Repsol's Director of Sustainability, Clara Isabel Rey García, added:

“The decarbonization of our products is one of our highest priorities. Repsol is committed to providing customers with a product with an ever-smaller carbon footprint, helping them build their own path towards net zero emissions."
