The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) plays a pivotal role in the global energy landscape, accounting for 15% of the world's proven oil reserves and hosting the largest onshore and offshore oil fields, in Ghawar and Safaniya. In 2022, the Kingdom secured its position as the third-highest crude oil and condensate producer, with an impressive 10.4 million b/d. Not only was it the world's leading crude oil exporter, but also OPEC's top crude oil producer in the same year.

Saudi Aramco, the world's largest energy company, is set to expand its sustainable crude oil production capacity by an estimated 1 million b/d, reaching 13 million b/d by 2027. Ambitious projects for the Safaniya, Zuluf, Marjan, and Berri oil fields are all expected to drive this growth.

In alignment with the forward-thinking Vision 2030, the Kingdom is fostering extensive renewable energy projects, aiming for renewables to constitute approximately 50% of its energy mix. This commitment reflects Saudi Arabia's larger goal of achieving net-zero emissions by 2060. The Kingdom's plans also include the construction of one of the world's largest green hydrogen facilities, operational by 2025 and powered by over 4GW of solar and wind energy.
